The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap for the week before, showcase books and things we have received, etc.
We finally had a week with zero snow days. I know people love snow days and I typically do. But I fear that being stuck at home was making me go a little stir crazy after so many weeks. So I definitely apologize for my grumpster post last Sunday. I’m over it now and this week has been exponentially better that last week.
This week, I finally posted about a book I bought two weeks ago. It’s a highly debated book and I already know that posting about it is going to cause issues. It’s Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury about his time in the White House and the story that unfolded from all of his interviews/discussions with White House members. So before you start rolling your eyes, please know that my interest in this book is out of sheer curiosity. Regardless of my personal feelings, I am a veteran and I have always had respect for whoever is in office. Let’s face it, the worst thing anyone can do is tell a bookworm that they shouldn’t read something and by trying to prevent the sale of this book, I was hooked into wanting to see what the big deal is all about. I’ve already finished the first three chapters and everything in those chapters was in the news at one point or another. So please, don’t be dismissive of me just because I’m curious to see what all the fuss is about. Politics is stressful enough and at the end of the day we bookworms should be able to ignore that stuff and share in our mutual love for reading.
I started my substitute position at my friend’s daycare on Tuesday. Her previous sub just up and quit on her a few weeks ago, so I offered to help out. It’s nice because I know most of the kids already and it’s something consistent. My schedule is now that I’m at my son’s old school four days a week and at the daycare once a week. This kind of consistency has really helped to improve my mood and keep my spirits up. Which is great because I don’t know anyone who wants to be miserable at work.
I decided to take the plunge and have become a consultant for Paparazzi Accessories. An old naval friend of mine has been selling for the past few months and she invited me to join on and I’m glad I did. I’m a little nervous because my first facebook live is on Tuesday. But I got all my pieces in and I’m ready to go. So wish me luck!
Reading-wise, it’s been a quiet week.
I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend and hopefully I’ll be in a better mood next Sunday. I finished two books, but only got around to reviewing the first. So you should expect to see my second review later on today. As I said a few weeks ago, I’m going to take it slow and steady. This way I get to enjoy what I’m reading and I can still focus on my school work.
I hope you all had a great weekend full of laughter, fun, and great books!
All book covers are linked to my personal review of the book or it’s Goodreads or Amazon page.
I’m a bit behind on reviews, so here’s the ones that will be coming out soon:
Here’s my (general) upcoming TBR list in no particular order:
I haven’t been borrowing books from the library lately. Too often the books would just sit on the shelves for a long time and I’d never get around to them. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back into the habit after I get more into the routine of things.
