The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap for the week before, showcase books and things we have received, etc.
It’s been another week full of snow days. I know what you are all thinking, “Don’t you enjoy having days off?” The answer is no. I spent all of last semester paying to work 40 hours a week and not being allowed to have a job outside of student teaching. All of these snow days are killing my ability to pay my bills next month. I want to work and I need to work. I’m not a teacher who gets paid regardless if school is in session or not. I’m a substitute teacher. I only make money when I can work. Friday’s call off really ticked me off because the “inclement weather” they were worried about didn’t even hit until after all of the schools would have completed their days and all the students were home. So, despite the fact I love winter weather, right now, I just want to flip Mother Nature the bird because she’s messing with my livelihood.
Classes started up this week. I’m ashamed to say that despite my determination to get ahead on the weekly reading, I still haven’t even read the second chapter for this week. My lack of motivation is probably due to the lack of consistent work outside of the house. As much as I enjoy staying home, we are now six weeks out from the last time I had a complete week of work and that was my last week of student teaching. I actually had to go out to eat with my son yesterday to even get through the first chapter for class. As soon as I post this, I’ll be heading out again to finish the second chapter.
I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend and hopefully I’ll be in a better mood next Sunday.
All book covers are linked to my personal review of the book or it’s Goodreads or Amazon page.
I’m a bit behind on reviews, so here’s the ones that will be coming out soon:
Here’s my (general) upcoming TBR list in no particular order:
I haven’t been borrowing books from the library lately. Too often the books would just sit on the shelves for a long time and I’d never get around to them. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back into the habit after I get more into the routine of things.
