The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap for the week before, showcase books and things we have received, etc.
I’m finally getting over this darn sinus infection. It’s only take six weeks, but for the most part I’m feeling better and actually able to be productive. However, it greatly impacted my productivity this week, since I was still have my good day/bad day switch off with it. Between my sinus infection and the extreme wind chills, I didn’t get to head back to subbing this week. I would like to say I spent most of the time reading, but the truth is, I was busy trying to prepare for school starting back up next week.
Speaking of school… I received news that it is being strongly recommended that I do not do my graduate research while taking my research classes this semester. This wouldn’t be an issue, if I weren’t graduating in May or if this wasn’t brought up the Friday before classes start. So I went through all the stages of grief and wound up spending most of the day highly anxious and upset. Especially since I was bound to waiting for hours on end for the professor to e-mail me back and my academic advisor to not e-mail me back. Now, I’m okay with doing my classes this semester and pushing the project back to this summer. I don’t even care about officially graduating at the end of the summer because I get to walk in May and will be able to get my teaching license and find a job. But now, I’m being told that I might not be able to do that. This is frustrating and it’s honestly leaving me fed up and over trying so damn hard to better my life. Hopefully, this will all be worked out by this time next week and I’ll be able to laugh at how hard I’m taking this.
My birthday was this week. It was a pretty uneventful day, which has been the norm since I was 13. I won’t lie, I wish my birthday was a bigger deal and that I actually had family or friends who cared enough to do more than just wish me happy birthday on Facebook. But, I’m the one who prefers a more solitary life and this is one of the downsides of that. Meh. I got to spend the day with my wonderful son and that’s enough for me.
School is starting up and I’ll be working more consistently, so my reviews will dwindle once again. My goal is still one a week, but I think I’m going to try to read a children’s book each week as well. I’m not going to add that as part of my goal, but I have so many books that I’ve been collecting and I need to familiarize myself with many of them. So I think this is a good opportunity to do that, especially since so many of these books can be read in less than two hours.
I’ve been contemplating what other content to add to my blog. I don’t want to do something for the sake of just having content. I want to do posts that are personable to me and what I like. So we’ll see what I figure out over the next few weeks. I suppose I’ll worry about it once I figure out what’s going on with school.
I hope you all had a wonderful New Year and that your week is full of great new books to read!
All book covers are linked to my personal review of the book or it’s Goodreads or Amazon page.
I’m a bit behind on reviews, so here’s the ones that will be coming out soon:
Here’s my (general) upcoming TBR list in no particular order:
I haven’t been borrowing books from the library lately. Too often the books would just sit on the shelves for a long time and I’d never get around to them. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back into the habit after I get more into the routine of things.
