The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap for the week before, showcase books and things we have received, etc.
This past week has been bitter sweet for me. On one hand, I’m finishing all of my classes and I have nearly a month off from school. After such a long and hard semester, this break is exactly what I need to recharge before I plunge into my final semester of graduate school. On the other hand, I had to say goodbye to my class on Friday and it was harder than I ever thought it would be. As a thank you to my cooperating teacher and her class aide, I had the art teacher and the class create these paintings for them.
I spent most of the week trying to hang back so that I could help prepare my students for my departure. I used the time to work on final papers, blogs, and to read. It’s been a calm week, but I can’t tell you how bored I was getting by the end of the day on Friday. Since I was leaving early, I received my birthday and secret Santa gifts early.
Now, it’s on to bigger things. I would say better, but I loved that classroom and if I could have afforded to do it, I would have volunteered to stay in there for free all year. So far, I’ve received one job offer. It’s a part-time position at a school, just one day a week. They’ve also offered me the position as the school sub. It’s not much, but it’s something for now. I still haven’t heard anything for other positions I applied for but one application window closed on Friday, so I should hear something this week. The other closes next week, so hopefully I’ll hear something after that.
Book-wise, I’ve made a dent on my year goal of 25 books. Originally I had planned for 100, but school and work definitely got in the way of that goal. I still have some book reviews I need to knock out, but that leaves me with a few more books to finish before New Year’s Eve.
I found this adorable pajama at Walmart yesterday! My son loves grumpy cat and I think he’ll love this!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that this week is full of great books!

Here’s my (general) upcoming TBR list in no particular order:
As you may or may not have realized, my school and student teaching has completely taking over my life for the past eight months. So much so that I received my November order for Scholastic last week and realized I still hadn’t unboxed October’s order. Last week, I unpacked October’s Scholastic order. This week, I’m going to go through November’s box, which has lots of goodies for this bookworm… Continue Reading Here

It was hard when I left my coop classroom too. My coop teacher was the head football coach, and that semester his dad had died. The kids and I really bonded and they LOVED him. It was hard to leave. I found out when I accepted my teaching position the next August that his partner was retiring and the principal had wanted to hire me for her position but never made that known. I was really bummed when I learned that.
I hope those other positions come through!!
I love the Grumpy pajamas. Saying goodbye is hard. Hopefully you will have books to fill your time 🙂
Enjoy your break! I love the grumpy pajamas. Have a great week!
Thanks! I’m excited to see what he thinks on Christmas Eve! 🙂 I hope you have a great week as well.
