The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap for the week before, showcase books and things we have received, etc.
It has been an interesting week for our little family. On Monday, we went to a voter’s rally and after a few hours of waiting outside… we got to stand front and center while Hillary Clinton spoke! My son was getting antsy, after all we had been standing for nearly four hours. But as the speech ended, Hillary started making her rounds and we got to shake her hand and take a picture with her! I know a lot of people don’t like Hillary or Trump, but I thought this was an amazing opportunity for my son to see a political rally and he actually got to meet a former First Lady and Secretary of State… and possibly the next president of the United States and the first female president. Regardless of your thoughts on the presidential race this year, that’s a cool opportunity for a ten year old. If I could have attended the Trump event, I still wouldn’t have felt comfortable taking him because of all of the violence that’s been reported. But at least he got to go to one and actually meet someone who is going to be a part of history. And he even got to see his picture on the web!
Tuesday was another hectic day, because I got to attend a Walk in Dyslexia simulation. I had to watch video of a simulation for one of my classes this semester, but the experience of a real simulation was far more interesting… especially since it was compounded with me suffering through yet another massive migraine. Though I was miserable, it was interesting to get a feel for the struggle so many people have when it comes to reading and writing. Two things I definitely take advantage of. I hope these kinds of simulations will help make me a better teacher, because I definitely don’t want to be one that unintentionally sets up their students to struggle or fail.
Wednesday was another busy day, but I decided to take the day off from interning and working. I was still suffering from my migraine and wound up sleeping halfway through the day. My class that night, got to go to this amazing store for teachers where they have a production room to create everything you might need in your class room. Seeing as I’m in my first full semester of school, it might seem a little early to be introduced to one of these kinds of shops, but the truth is I’m fast tracking my degree. In December I will already have 21 credits and I only need 63 to graduate. I might even be able to do my student teaching next Fall if I continue working so hard. But as busy as I am, I don’t even want to consider that at the moment. What I need is a nap and fortunately, in two weeks my schedule gets a little lighter. I’ll only be taking two courses during B term. But who knows, I may have to do more work in those classes. We will just have to see.
Anyways, I hope you all are having a great weekend and that you have a great week!

Here’s my (general) upcoming TBR list in no particular order:
You definitely are on the fast track! I don’t know about the requirements for your school and degree, but I had to do two blocks and then my student teaching (so three semesters total in the schools). It sounds like everything is going really well in that department, but you definitely need some me time! How cool that your son got to experience a political rally – and meet a candidate! That is awesome!
Sounds like you’ve got a plan! Hope everything goes well with the classes! I remembered planning each new semester brought stress. I went to a smaller university, so class sizes were smaller and limited. So if I didn’t get the class I needed for my degree, it caused a tailspin of panicking! Luckily, every semester I got all the classes I wanted/needed so in the end it was all good!
Gotta enjoy those rare weeks where you don’t add to the TBR mountain! It’s sad on one point, but relieving on a lot of others too! LOL! Hope you have a great week!
