Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This week’s topic is a bit of a freebie. As school has started for myself as well as my son, I know there won’t be a ton of reading on my end. However, I am making it my goal to read to my son every night. But the issue has always been trying to keep him interested. I tried Goosebump books last year, but to be honest it wasn’t worth the battle. It would take us months to get through a single book and every attempt was a screaming match. But a couple of nights ago, I was racking my brain about what kind of book I could try this time around and I realized I wanted to try the A Series of Unfortunate Events series. So I pulled it out and began to read and he’s not only interested, but he wants to watch the movie! So my plan is to work my way through the series, so that’s our goal for this school year. Hopefully we will make some headway, but we’ll just have to see how it goes.
I’m afraid that’s all I have for today. Can’t wait to see what you all have listed today!
these are still on my list of books i want to read eventually too! My TTT
I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! I plan on reading them to my classes when I finally get my teaching license.
Lovely list! 😀

Thanks!
Oh nice! That’s great that it’s sparking his interest!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!

Oh yeah! I’m really excited because I’ve been trying for years to get him into reading!
Afraid I’ve never read any of these, but the series looks interesting. My TTT lists sci-fi cats to read about instead of doing homework.
I never heard of the series before the movie came out in 2004 or 2005. It featured Jim Carrey and looked intriguing. When I found out it was a book series, I grabbed all of the books that were out at the moment (which was almost the entire series) and devoured them. They are a great series for kids.
Ah A Series of Unfortunate Events is so good, I hope you and your son enjoy them!

I love the books! I’m really surprised by how much he’s enjoying them and I am excited to read them with him! 🙂
Ah that’s great!
Such a good series! I hope you enjoy it.
I loved the series when I read them over a decade ago. I devoured them after seeing the movie and was sad when the series ended.
