It’s not often that I find a book I am willing to recommend to others as a must read. But for those moments when I do, I really want to go out of my way to recommend them to fellow bookworms who may be in need of something new to read. My choices always come those books that receive four or five stars from the month prior. For the past few weeks, you guys have been voting for which book should be featured. There were a lot of fantastic books up for this feature and there were so many of you who clearly loved several of them. I’m pleased to share that this month’s featured book is Finding Magdalena by Shannon Condon.

When you are reading a book, typically you find yourself looking out for key things that will help you determine if you like it or not. In Finding Magdalena, I found myself sifting through a mixture of emotions because there were several things I enjoyed and a few things that really annoyed me.
I was actually a fan of several major plot points. Since Maggie was such an obnoxious Mary Sue, the fact she didn’t have a picture perfect life helped balance out the few issues I had with this book. I was a bit confused by hers and Graham’s relationship initially. Especially when he suddenly decides he doesn’t want to be with her the day after they confessed their feelings for one another. But teenagers are impulsive and in light of the events that led up to that, I suppose I could understand how he could make such a stupid mistake. Also, I really liked the introduction of Eric into the story line. He was probably the most complex character in the book.... Read More
Trust me when I say, if you are looking for something to spice up your reading list, this is the book for you. It’s a great coming of age tale that is full of drama and suspense and I look forward to getting the opportunity to read the other books from this author.
