The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap for the week before, showcase books and things we have received, etc.
This has been a pretty difficult week. Last week, I had suffered through my blood pressure plummeting while donating plasma. This week, I had to deal with it sky rocketing in the wake of my sinus surgery. Fortunately, that’s finally under control. But I’m still dealing with all of the aftermath from the surgery, which includes not being able to breathe through my nose, losing the ability to taste most foods and randomly being able to pick up on some extremely disgusting or overwhelming smells. Hopefully I will be able to return to work on Tuesday or at least do a half-day on Monday and a half-day on Tuesday.
My reading was a bit slow this week. I couldn’t really focus after the surgery. But as I’ve started to feel better to some point, I’ve been able to knock out two books this weekend already and hopefully will be halfway through with a third one tonight. However, when I say my surgery uprooted my entire week, I wasn’t exaggerating. I missed out on my monthly book club on Tuesday because I didn’t even get home from the surgery until after 6 that night and knew I wouldn’t be able to focus. I also missed out on an opportunity to meet Lisa Beazley last weekend because I was so darn focused on cleaning and preparing that it slipped my mind. Needless to say, I am not a happy bookworm this week. 😦
On a plus side, I’m still looking into going to get my Masters degree in education or my alternative teaching degree. I really need something to look forward to and I feel I’m finally figuring out what I want to do with my life. Also, I will be starting my summer job at my son’s school next Wednesday night. During the school year, I’ll be a group mentor in the afternoons and during the summer I’ll be one during the day. The pay isn’t great, but it covers me while school is out and allows me to spend some quality time with my son.
Anyways, I hope you all are having a great weekend and that you have a great week!

Here’s my (general) upcoming TBR list in no particular order:
I finally got two more Netgalley-related books. I know it seems weird to be checking them out when I have the ebook copy. But I have really been trying to bounce between one ebook and one physical book. With everything that has happened the last few months, I don’t want to over strain my eyes. So this will only help me get caught up… Read More
I was really excited to find that Charlaine Harris’ newest Midnight, Texas book was available for request on Netgalley. Even better, I was approved to read and review it. Also, I received word that one of the books I put down as a wish was approved. So now I know I need to focus on clearing out some more of my Netgalley books.
Picked up a few more BSC books. I’ve been steadily adding to my collection. I figured I needed to start making a dent on my Mallory and Jessi collection, so I picked out one of each this week. LOL It’s been a while since I counted how many I’ve obtained already, but I seem to be making progress on my Amazon wishlist.
