Sunday Post #29 – Happy Easter!

Sunday Post Meme

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap for the week before, showcase books and things we have received, etc.

I know many of you are busy and we all read a bunch of different books, but I’m in desperate need of people to vote for next month’s featured book. I don’t care how it’s chosen and there have never been any rules against getting your friends to vote for your favorite book. I just found out there’s only been three votes so far (in over two weeks of being up) and it’s a three way tie. So help a fellow bookworm out and cast your vote please?

Have you ever had one of those weeks where you aren’t quite sure where the time went or even what you did all week? That’s how this past week has been for me. I think part of the issue is that it has been Spring Break for my little guy. With him not going to school every day, the days have kind of begun to blend together for both of us. We were both surprised to find out it was actually Friday and not Saturday. But overall we’ve had a great week together.

I believe the other issue that has contributed to my strange week is the fact I caught a cold a few nights ago. Normally I wouldn’t complain about these kinds of things, after all it’s just a cold, right? The only thing about it that is bothering me is that my sinuses are acting up something fierce as well and I accidentally busted an eardrum the other night, just from blowing my nose. Though it’s not the greatest feeling in the world, being sick is always like a toss up for me and my reading. Sometimes, I don’t want to do anything but curl up in bed, sleep and read. And then times, like this week, I just want to do something mindless. So that’s what my son and I have done. We’ve spent the last three days playing Sims 3 (him on XBox 360 and me on PS3). For the most part it’s worked. But now I feel bad because I only read two books this week. I can’t even remember the last time I read so few books in a week. But at least we’re both on the mends and hopefully, I’ll get some reading in next week.

Speaking of next week, I get to finally start subbing for one of the local districts on Monday! I’m super excited and getting more nervous by the hour. My goal is to do this while I wait for the job I applied for with the Veteran’s Service Commission. And if I don’t get it? Well, at least I have work, right?

Anyways, I hope you all are having a great weekend and that you have a great week!

All book covers are linked to my personal review of the book or it’s Goodreads or Amazon page.

Last Weeks PostsSlow, slow week for me this past week. Hopefully next week will be better.

What to Expect

I have to get my monthly book club book out of the way. Other than that, here’s my (general) upcoming TBR list in no particular order:

Parasite The Victim Goodnight Kiss 2 Nowhere Girl

Sage's Eyes Murder in Absentia

Library LootThere’s no new library books for me this week. Which is probably best as I have been sick the past few days and haven’t read anything. But, in order to be able to post I figured it might do me some good to list all of the books I currently have checked out from the library. I know for anyone following from week to week, it’s probably… Read More

ARC Corner

No new books this week! I’m going to try and focus on getting through the list of books I have first and foremost. I would much rather miss out on some great books in order to get back on track with my reviews.

Stacking the Shelves

I found some great looking books this week. Of course, the last thing I need to continued adding to my TBR, but let’s face it, this is a burden every bookworm has.

  2. I was sick a few weeks ago and didn’t feel much like reading either. It was very odd! I ended up having a Harry Potter movie marathon!
This week is my spring break so I am already having the weird days-blurring-together thing!
Have a great week and good luck with subbing!!

  3. Some great books there! I need to read The Rosie Project one of these days. I went and voted in your poll. Have a great upcoming week!

  4. I WISH I could read two books each week! Sounds like you guys had an enjoyable week. I hope the effects of your cold aren’t related to your concussion. I hope this coming week is good for you and you kick this thing!
