March 2016 Featured Book: Deep by Jaine Diamond

Deep

Add to GoodreadsIt’s not often that I find a book I am willing to recommend to others as a must read. But for those moments when I do, I really want to go out of my way to recommend them to fellow bookworms who may be in need of something new to read. My choices always come those books that receive four or five stars from the month prior. For the past few weeks, you guys have been voting for which book should be featured. There were a lot of fantastic books up for this feature and there were so many of you who clearly loved several of them. I’m pleased to share that this month’s featured book is Deep by Jaine Diamond.

When I first started Deep, I wasn’t entirely sure if it would be something I would like. As many of you know, I’m not really the biggest fan of romance novels and since I approve author requested reviews long before I get to them, I had long since forgotten what it was suppose to be about. In a way, this is the best way for me to approach books because I never know what I’m going to get, because once things started steaming up in the book, I couldn’t tear myself away. In fact, it’s probably one of the sexiest books I’ve ever read.

I enjoy erotica, but I don’t read it too often. Truth be told, I haven’t found a lot of authors who have the right kind of finesse that will keep me interested in both the story and the sex scenes. Jaine Diamond does a phenomenal job balancing the two. Both characters are struggling with things from their pasts and it’s apparent in how they handle their relationship. I was invested in them as individuals as well as a couple. Something that doesn’t usually happen for me in books. The other great thing is the fact the author doesn’t lose sight of what is supposed to be going on around the two. Too often, story become so immersed in the coupling, that the rest of the story line disappears.

If you are looking for something hot and I mean HOT to read this winter, you have to go check out this book. I’m not a prude, but I typically don’t read a ton of erotica because too often the author does nothing but write sex scene after sex scene and that’s it. So why am I so adamant about recommending this book? Because it’s not only written well, but the sex scenes include more than just a description of what’s happening. The author is smart by including their thoughts and observations of one another. Hell, even moments of doubt are present and thus, it makes it realistic…. Read More

Trust me when I say, if you are looking for something to spice up your reading list, this is the book for you. There’s a little of something for everyone and I can’t wait until the sequel comes out.
