What Are You Reading Wednesday #25: Red: The True Story of Red Riding Hood by Liesl Shurtliff

whatareyoureadingwedWhat Are You Reading Wednesdays #WAYRW is a weekly feature on It’s A Reading Thing. It’s fairly straight forward. Just answer a few simple questions about the book you are currently reading and the post it. If you use the image above, please make sure you link it back to It’s A Reading Thing.

How to participate:
Grab the book you are currently reading and answer three questions:

Red - The True Story of Red Riding Hood

1. What’s the name of your current read?

Red: The True Story of Red Riding Hood

2. Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your eBook and share a couple of sentences.

“I’m still hungry,” said Goldie when the berries were gone. “Maybe we can catch some fish.” She started toward the water.

“Don’t be stupid,” I said. “Don’t you remember the sprites?”

Goldie scowled. “I remember the sprites. I just thought maybe some fish would be nice.”

I looked away, remorse needling me. “I’m sorry,” I said. “I just thought you might have forgotten.”

“Well I didn’t,” she said. “I never forget anything.” She lifted her chin and walked faster. So I walked faster, too, and then she went faster, so I went faster, and the Goldie ran, so I ran, too. We raced down the river. I pulled ahead of Goldie, and I was pretty proud of myself until-

Schleeoop!

3. Would you like to live in the world that exists within your book? Why or why not?

So far this is a cute little read and the world Red lives in is kind of like what you know from her fairy tale. And yet, it’s different. It’s definitely a place I could see me wanting to visit if I were a child… oh who am I kidding? As far as I can tell, I’d have fun in this land.
