This Week’s Question:

Are you able to read in the car?

Are we assuming we all have self-driving cars for this one? I’m just kidding. I’m a single mother, so if the car is moving, I’m the one driving and thus can’t read. However, I have been known to show up everywhere early and am more than willing to hang out in my car and read. Also, I have no problem listening to audiobooks while driving. In fact, that’s how I managed to deal with my hour long commute to and from college a few years ago.

Hope you guys have a greet week!

  1. I’ve never been able to read in a moving car without getting car sick… 😦 I wish there had been more audiobooks available when I was a kid headed cross country on a family road trip!

  2. I actually probably read more if I’m driving because I listen to audiobooks a lot where as when I’m a passenger I only read sometimes because it makes me queasy if I’m not careful!

  3. I can read in the car, but if I’m the driver, I do as you do—arrive early so I have a few minutes of extra reading time.

  4. Yes, I almost always have a book or at least my Kindle with me so if I’m stuck waiting for a kid somewhere, I have something to read.

  5. LOVE your answer! Lol. Audiobooks are a GREAT idea! I remember listening to “Twilight” and “New Moon” during my morning commute a few years back. And I had already read the physical books! Lol. That’s because I’m a HUGE fan of this series!

It’s great that you’re also able to do some reading when you arrive early at some locations. Time is so precious, we need to get as much reading done as possible! Lol.

Happy reading in the car and elsewhere! And have a GREAT weekend, too!! 🙂

  6. I find audiobooks are the way to go when in a car, irregardless of who’s driving

  7. I used to be better at it as a kid. This is pre-seatbelts and I would be in the back back of the station wagon facing the cars behind us. It’s amazing but that was my favorite reading spot. I am not as good at it because I am always checking the road status of the driver and not focusing on the book in my hands.

  8. I’m also always the one driving. So reading in the car never works for me.

  9. I always show up early to work (yeah I know there is something wrong with that statement lol) but I also always find myself whipping out a book whenever I get anywhere early! Great way to kill time and a perfect excuse to read some more 🙂

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  10. Sometimes I wish my commute was a little longer so I could enjoy listening to audiobooks more. As it is, it’s only 20 minutes at most, which is never enough time. But, then, it’s nice not having a long drive–so I guess in the end, I would rather the short commute. 🙂

  11. Audiobooks are great. I use them as I sew costumes as well.
