There were no new books in from the library. But seeing as I cleared out the majority of my hold list, it’s not surprising. So as I came into this weekend I struggled to decide what to talk about. I didn’t really want to skip a week. I like doing this meme. So I’m mixing it up and showing you what is currently on my library hold list.
Some of you may be wondering why The 5th Wave is appearing when I picked it up a few weeks back. Truth is, with the movie coming out, someone else requested it before I had a chance to check it out. So, I still wanted to read the book before seeing the movie and I went ahead and put it back on hold. As for On What Grounds, I believe I saw it on Amazon when I was looking at cozy mysteries. I’ve been craving some mix into my reading for some time and I have become quite fond of these types of books. They are perfect when I’m in the mood for something light-hearted and fun to read.
Here’s what books are still on my library list:
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.
Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother–or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.
On What Grounds by Cleo Coyle
Clare arrives at work to discover the assistant manager dead in the back of the store, coffee grounds strewn everywhere. Two detectives investigate. But when they find no sign of forced entry or foul play, they deem it an accident. Still, Clare is not convinced. And after the police leave, Clare can’t help wondering…If this was an act of murder, is she in danger?
What did you pick up from the library this week? Or what are you planning on putting on hold? Leave me a comment and let me know!
