25 Days of Christmas #14: Real or Artificial Tree

I only remember us having a real tree once or twice when I was little. I’ve always been a bigger fan of the artificial tree. I’ve never been a huge fan of cutting down trees. It just seemed like such a waste and considering how they pounded recycling and saving the environment when we were in elementary school, it’s just hard to get behind having a real tree. But trust me, this isn’t a judgment for those who love real trees. I think we all have our reasons for why we like what we like and that’s why I like fake ones.

I never thought I’d buy a colored tree, but a few years ago, I saw this white tree and I couldn’t help but see the possibilities with it. Any color combination I put with it will pop and if I want to change the coloring, I could change out the lights. Which I plan on doing next year… if I can find purple bulbs.

So what do you prefer? Real or Artificial?

  1. I have to go with artificial. My ex husband and I did the whole drag the kids to the christmas tree forest, cut it down in the freezing cold AND snow, bring it home, water it, water it, water it. Then take it down and drag it outside with all the pine needles following behind it. NEVER AGAIN!! I still find pine needles! Oh, and did I mention I was 9 months pregnant and gave birth five days after Christmas. Good times, good times.

    • LMAO! My biggest tree dilemma is keeping my kitten out of the tree. He’s obsessed with it. You keep finding pine needles, I keep finding ornaments… everywhere. I even came home to find some in front of the fridge. I think he was trying to store it with his other toys.

  2. I’m a sucker for a “real” tree but only because every time I look at artificial trees in the store they look so bare to me. Maybe there’s a trick to them because when they’re up in people’s houses they always look nice. I don’t know. And then I’d have to store it somewhere all year and I don’t have any storage space so it just makes sense to go get one each year and smell the pine and deal with the mess for a month or so. πŸ™‚
