What Are You Reading Wednesdays #WAYRW is a weekly feature on It’s A Reading Thing. It’s fairly straight forward. Just answer a few simple questions about the book you are currently reading and the post it. If you use the image above, please make sure you link it back to It’s A Reading Thing.
How to participate:
Grab the book you are currently reading and answer three questions:
1. What’s the name of your current read?
The Walking Dead: Invasion by Robert Kirkman & Jay Bonansinga
2. Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your eBook and share a couple of sentences.
Out of nowhere, a number of unexpected noises and quick movements in the priest’s peripheral vision interrupt his spiel and make him flinch as though a bomb has just gone off. A figure from behind him approaches at a dead run, arms pumping excitedly, voice caterwauling: “FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST, IT’S HER, I TOLD THEM IT WAS HER – I JUST KNOW IT – !!”
The young African-American boy in the flopping braids and ragged hoodie charges toward Jeremiah’s Escalade. The preacher jerks back, reaching for his knife, taken completely by surprise.
“It’s okay, he’s one of ours!” Father Murphy calls out, shooting his hands up in a conciliatory gesture. “It’s all right, he’s harmless!”
3. Would you like to live in the world that exists within your book? Why or why not?
I’m torn about this particular question. Do I think I could survive in the world of the Walking Dead? Yes. Would I like to live there? No. Knowing me, I would hide out in a library and kill anything that dared to ruin any of the books within. It could get ugly, because at some point, I’m sure I’d just get cruel and kill with a million paper cuts.
