Over the past week, I have been posting “New to the TBR” posts as I add new books to my to be read list. I was a little wary at first about it coming off as spammy and honestly I think it was. I found myself struggling to put in my regular posts and reviews because I seem to add a heck of a lot more books to my list than I ever seemed to imagine. So I’m going to try my second option, posting all of them on a specific day in one nice, clean post. I thought about trying out memes like Friday Finds and such. But honestly, I already have a meme I do on that specific day I really want to find one for Thursdays.
So I’m going to start my own meme, called “To Be Read Thursdays”. In it I will feature the books I have been adding to my to be read list on Goodreads. I would love if other people wanted to do this with me, but I understand that sometimes memes can become tedious and some of you already have ones for that day. Maybe I’ll expand to clearing out some of the clutter in my TBR list, but for now I think this will suffice in show casing what books are catching my eye.
Ooh what a good idea!
Another option if posting a TBR list is just one extra step you don’t want to deal with (especially since you are already adding them on Goodreads) is to add a second Goodreads widget that lists your TBR list instead of your currently reading list. There is absolutely no way I could keep up to date a currently reading list or posts on which books I’ve added, so I only use the TBR list and widget to keep readers informed. Just a thought!
That’s a really good idea. Originally I had wanted to only feature lesser known authors/books. But I also tested more popular authors and sure enough, 75% of all views were for those only.
