More Library Loot

wpid-img_20151015_073139_835.jpgI mentioned a few days ago about my first visit to my local library’s book sale. And though I got several great books, I didn’t really get much of a chance to look for new authors and new things to read. One of the reasons is because I was a bit overwhelmed initially by all of the books, but also all of the people. Also, I work fairly late into the evening, so I was there at a time I would still be sleeping. But all of this worked out in my favor, because I was able to go back yesterday and pick up even more books, many of which weren’t available the first time around. In fact, I was able to snag three bags of books for only $11.

Here’s my loot from today’s visit:

  • Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White
  • Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret by Judy Blume
  • Superfudge by Judy Blume
  • Henry Reed’s Baby-sitting Service by Keith Robertson
  • Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great by Judy Blume
  • Sudden Prey by John Sandford
  • Kindred in Death by J.D. Robb
  • The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie
  • Don’t Cry for Me by Sharon Sala
  • Lady Killer by Lisa Scottoline
  • Shanghai Girls by Lisa See
  • Murder, Mayhem & A Fine Man by Claudia Mair Burney
  • Kill Me Again by Maggie Shayne
  • Home in Carolina by Sherryl Woods
  • The Shack by WM Paul Young
  • Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks
  • Shopaholic Ties the Knot by Sophie Kinsella
  • Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella
  • Shopaholic Takes Manhattan by Sophie Kinsella
  • The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson
  • The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella
  • Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
  • Shopaholic & Sister by Sophie Kinsella
  • Midnight Club by James Patterson
  • Baby Love by Catherine Anderson
  • Killing Me Softly by Maggie Shayne
  • Full Bloom by Janet Evanovich & Charlotte Hughes
  • Summer Island by Kristin Hannah
  • Goosebumps Horrorland: When the Ghost Dog Howls by R.L. Stine
  • The Nutcracker by E.T.A. Hoffman
  • The Secret of Nihm by Robert C. O’Brien
  • Total Recall by Sara Paretsky
  • Santa Cruise by Mary & Carol Higgins Clark
  • The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
  • Running the Rift by Naomi Benaron
  • Left My Sneakers in Dimension X by Bruce Coville
  • The Living Dead 2 by Various Authors
  • Hans Brinker of the Silver Skates by Mary Mapes Dodge
  • Penrod and Sam by Booth Tarkington
  • Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson
  • Bible Stories for Young Readers by April Oursler Armstrong
  • The Family Treasury of Children’s Stories by Various Authors
  • East O’ The Sun and West O’ The Moon by Asbjornsen and Moe

As you can tell, I had no problem with finding some variety this time around. I considered trying a few of the many romances I saw, but I can’t help it. If I was sure it was a romance, I avoided it. Still, getting over 40 books for $11 is a great deal and maybe… just maybe, I’ll go back on Saturday for $1 bag of books day. Though, I really shouldn’t. I really like being able to help my local library raise money. They’ve been so great about getting so many new releases and such. Besides, let’s face it, I love me some books!
