You know, it’s a funny thing to be asking for book suggestions, when my Goodreads To Read list has nearly 1400 books on it and my Amazon wishlist has over 500 listed. But the truth is, this bookworm needs HELP.
I don’t know exactly why I got so addicted to reading series. Perhaps it’s began when I bought my first two books, which happened to be part of The Baby-Sitters Club series when I was five years old. From there, my reading interest grew into Goosebumps, Spooksville, The Little House on the Prairie, and Fear Street. Of course, I read random other books throughout the years, but it’s the series that I remember most. Perhaps it’s because out of the thousands of books I’ve read, I would say about 95% of them came from book series.
Now, this isn’t a bad thing. Series are great and an ongoing series, gives you something to look forward to every year. But I want to branch out and read a larger variety of books. So this is where you can help. I need suggestions.
I don’t have a lot of requirements, but I must ask that if it’s a strictly romance book (and I mean all about the love and nothing else), please don’t suggest it. I will never read it, because I like my stories to have plots outside of the need to obtain love. I just don’t like my books to be all about it. However, if it’s just part of a bigger plot, shoot the book my way!
You can find a list of the genres that I enjoy the most. Yes, romance is listed, but with the exception of Nicholas Sparks, these books focus on a plot besides the romance. I don’t mind if you suggest a series, but I am hoping that there are some solitary books worth reading.
