Some days it’s not as easy to get motivated to work out. Today for example, I was excited to get out of work at a decent time. Though I wouldn’t have time to run before picking up my son, I knew I had plenty of time to fit it in before dark. Of course, I didn’t expect a sudden thunderstorm to hit this afternoon. Nor did I expect that it would stir up enough stuff into the air that I would spend most of the evening suffering through yet another sinus migraine.
I suppose it was fate that I would miss today’s run. After all, yesterday’s was a disaster. My son and I are doing a 5k next month and I was hoping we could train for it. What I didn’t expect was for my son to whine and cry before we even completed a single lap around the park (aka the half mile mark of our run.) Never the less, I plan to remedy this situation by using today’s running challenge during tomorrow’s off day, as well as adding in a Zumba session to make up the difference.
Despite all odds and a pounding migraine, I did manage to complete the rest of my challenges. Though things are still fairly simple, I must admit, I always enjoy the feeling you get from a new workout. I know they have the saying, “No pain. No gain.” But the truth is, without a little pain, it’s hard to tell which workouts are working which parts of your body and when it comes to the core, I enjoy knowing which part is being worked.
Tomorrow is another day and I look forward to getting one step closer to completing this challenge.
