Please be kind. I wish I had thought of this sooner so I could have done it some justice. But I thought the concept was cute and for only spending about 10 minutes on it… meh.
‘Twas the night before Christmas,
When all through Bon Temps
Not a supernatural creature was stirring,
Not even a ghost;
The shifters ran wildly through the woods without care,
While under the moon light
Vampires in nearby Shreveport,
Prepared to close Fangtasia for the night;
The humans were tucked away,
Safe in their beds,
While visions of shifters and vampires
Filled their heads
At Gran’s, a lonely telepath
Bound in her robe and preparing for bed,
Caught the faint whisperings of someone’s thoughts
Within her pretty blonde head.
Frustrated and tired,
She opened the window and called out into the night
“I don’t know who y’all are,
but can we do this another time?”
Above her came a laugh,
filled with jolly and merry
And in a moments flash,
Appeared before her a short fat fairy.
She blinked once
and then once more
He smiled wryly at her
as he bowed his head towards the floor
“I seek only to bring
a little cheer to your life
But if you wish me gone,
I shall leave from your sight”
After months of stress and worry and loss,
A little cheer was in great need
But as she stared at her guest, she pondered “Saint Nick?”
“The one and only, indeed.”
Despite her upbringing, she couldn’t help wonder
What would Gran do?
She tightened her sash and pointed to the window
“I’ve no time for this nonsense. Go on get outta here, you.”
His face showed no sign
of disappointment or disgrace,
Instead he bowed once more
and flew out of the place
She heard him call out,
Just before she closed the window
“I was once him..
Just so you know.”
With a poof he was gone
And she stared in stunned silence
She knew Jason would have been saddened
To have missed such events
But she couldn’t help but mutter to herself
Still in stunned delight
“Merry Christmas to all
And to all a good night!”
